History

Sierra Montessori School in Queretaro is our first school in Mexico; founded by a group of professionals committed to the field of education and headed by Graciela Aguado, who has had a successful career in the USA for her passion in creating a learning environment honoring the values and principles of the Montessori Philosophy. She is the educational founder and Director of the Montessori Institute of Broward in Davie, Florida since 2006 until 2020 and The Learning Nest Montessori School in Miami from 2013 to 2020.

Mission

To provide a safe, diverse, creative, healthy, and fun environment that enables our children to grow intellectually, spiritually, and physically. We are committed to creating and maintaining an optimal learning environment that fosters respect and compassion, where children grow with enthusiasm and a sense of self-confidence, independence, responsibility and leadership. Our students become productive members of their family, community, society, and the world.

Vision

Our vision is to facilitate an environment that, as part of the learning process, prepares the child to live in a world of diversity with confidence and integrity. Our vision is for our students to grow to be honest people who treat others with respect, love, and compassion. Our students will become citizens of the world who contribute and make decisions based on the highest morals, transforming not just themselves, but also our community, country, and planet.

Objectives

1. To recognize and affirm the individuality of each child.
2. To provide an environment where students can grow in accordance with their own needs and potentialities.
3. Help children develop in such a way that they remain in touch with their own nature and develop respect for the environment in which they live.
4. To provide the context in which a group of children can develop a social structure that originates from the contrasting needs of the individuals and the group.
